UPCOMING GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING:
The Gilbert Police Leadership Association will be holding its Annual Elections on May 9th. The positions open for candidacy are the Vice President position currently held by Bill Balafas and the Secretary position held by Josh Fearno.
It is imperative the members of the GPLA take a moment to consider how their board has worked for them in the past year. If this administration has not met your expectations and you feel you or someone else could make a viable candidate to join the board then you have until Monday April 30th to nominate a new candidate for election. Please email the secretary with your nomination today.
At this meeting the new MOU for the next fiscal season will be voted on by the membership so please make sure you check your email and the calendar for the date and time.
SPECIAL OLYMPICS RUN :
I
wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to all those who voluntarily participated in
the Torch Run. The turn out was great - approximately 30 people
participated in the event. Some Police Department employees, their family members and even friends dawned their sneakers and braved
the heat in order to contribute to this years Special Olympics.
The Finish Line was a site to behold as we crossed the line the large cheering crowd was a welcome reward for those of us who ran into Maricopa Community College's
Stadium together. Thank you for everyone's participation and contribution.
Perhaps next year the Members of the GPLA can make an even larger impression!
